COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Assembly confirmed District 6 will be discontinued due to excessive voter engagement costs. Officials stated the demographic density was no longer fiscally sustainable. Residents will be redistributed into zones where their ballots will carry negligible weight. Elections Director Alan Kohn noted, "Those ballots lowered our statewide throughput."
